Joy Pockets #18
Inspired by Mon at Holistic Mama, I’m remembering the Joy Pockets that brightened our week around here. I would love to hear yours!
Taking the plunge and booking tickets to Italy.
Dreaming about all of the adventures we’ll have in Italy.
A three day weekend with nothing to do but be together.
Watching Annabelle perfect new skills, and congratulate herself for her success.
Recalling and holding precious memories of my dear great grandmother, who this week had her last day on this earth.
Feeling tiny flutters from our tiny babe.
A night out with some of my favorite moms.
Knowing that I could enjoy myself while A slept peacefully, not missing milk.
Sharing the love of cloth.
Extra long mother-daughter naptimes.

Italy!!! Woohoo! That sounds wonderful!! When are you going? Summer maybe? 3 day weekend of nothing—envy!! ANd those flutters, that is what I miss about being pregnant. Thanks for hosting Melissa! Happy weekend to you!
xo
We’re headed to Italy next month! :) Can’t wait … it has been six years since I traveled for the pure joy of it – too long! Happy weekend to you, too! xx
Italy!!! Whoohoo is right! I can’t wait to see all the pictures. A peaceful night sleep not worrying about the babe is so restful on many levels. A night out with mommy buddies (jealous). Have a great Weekend Melissa!
Thank you, Jess! I’m sure there will be many pictures :)
Thanks for doing this until Mon is back. And thanks for buying me a ticket to Italy with ya’ll! Sounds great!!
; )
XO
Hehe! First you’ll need to get your ticket to Guam so you can meet us at the airport ;)
hi
sorry I did something wrong while linking my joy pockets. I’ve just started them last week and I’ve seen that until february they’re hosted here.
it’s fun arriving here from italy and reading you’ve booked a trip to come here :-)
No worries! I took out the entry that didn’t go to you, and left the one that does, so you’re all set :) So glad you’re joining in – I love Joy Pockets!
So neat that you live in Italy, too. Perhaps your blog will help as I try to learn a bit of Italian ;)
thanks !
I love joy pockets too!!! they really help me to focus all the little wonderful thing which can make a great day (or even week).
I’d be glad to be useful with italian, so you’re welcome: come and read whenever you like :-)
Italy! What a wonderful and beautiful expereince that will be for your family!
I think so! I’m a bit giddy over the idea :)
Yes you have a lot to be joyous about, and you deserve it! Is that a recent picture of Annabelle looks like she is growing fast! Good for you to be able to celebrate a wonderful life, as well. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, the photo is from the weekend and my goodness how quickly she grows! Thank you for visiting :)
That’s a poignant juxtaposition between the death of your great grandmother and feeling your dear little one moving.
Italy is going to be wonderful. I’m envious too!
Our babies (all of them!) are getting so big.
I didn’t think of it at the time, but I’m fairly certain the first noticeable flutters came the same night I learned of my great grandmother’s passing. It certainly makes one acutely aware of the cycle of life.
And yes, our babies are hardly babies at all anymore!
i am so sorry to hear about your grandmother, but how wonderful that you have cherished memories of her, and that there is so much else good in your life.
Thank you, Rach. I am definitely grateful for the memories. It’s always sad to let a loved one go, but it helps when you know they lived a long and full life, and felt ready to move on.
That all sounds amazingly fabulous! Italy! Flutters! Naps! You have a lot to be joyful about, it seems :)
Thanks, Gaby! I really didn’t consider this to be a particular joy-filled week, which is why I love joy pockets so. Now that I stop and think about it, it was awesome for many reasons! ;) I hope yours was, too!
Ooooh Italy! Im so jealous! Looking forward to hearing all about it. Sorry to hear about your great grandmother.
This one is like a poem. I hope you share some photos from Italy!
Fun.
I so sorry about your great grandmother, but so happy you had time with her and hold her close still.
Love it! I cannot wait until I can go out at night without worrying about my son waking up and screaming for milkies.
